To Redwater High School junior Colt Morrow, bull riding is his way to honor and carry on the legacy of his grandfather.
Colt began his journey into bull riding at the age of 13, but a discussion about his grandfather, Carl “Sonny” Myers, a few years prior ignited the spark for the would-be bull rider.
“It’s always been something I wanted to do … But I have a very distinct memory from when I was eight and my Nana was talking to me about my grandpa. He was a cowboy and did bull riding and bareback. She asked me who was going to carry on his legacy and I remember looking up at her, a little 8-year-old kid, saying ‘I will,’” he said.
