Lone Star Chapter , National Society Daughters of the American Revolution sponsors the Junior American Citizens Contest Each Year.
This educational committee promotes civic education, American Heritage and history. through these contests our children learn the principles of our government and appreciation of our great country. The contest theme for this year was “Sparkling in the Stars with the 50th Anniversary of the NASA Space Shuttle Program. The contest has five categories: poster, banner, stamp photographic essay and digital art and banner. Each student’s work must fulfill specific guidelines to be eligible for an award.
Carrie Nations, New Boston Elementary School Student in Second Grade entered the Stamp Contest and Won First Place in Texas, First Place in Division and Third Place Nationally .
