Increasing lighting for security, hosting two celebrations at the park and the swearing in of three incumbents were on the agenda at the regular meeting of the DeKalb City Council Tuesday evening.
The council unanimously approved the removal of two trees at DeKalb City Park to allow a security light to be placed. They also approved a new street light to be installed on Church Street.
Both areas have been brought to the city’s attention because of how dark they have been, said Mayor Lowell Walker. The park will also be the site of two summertime celebrations after unanimous approval.
