Juneteenth is approaching, and the Juneteenth Celebration Committee of De Kalb is planning a day full of celebration.
“Juneteenth is the day that African Americans were freed from slavery,” said Juneteenth Celebration Committee President Jerome Williams.
The kickoff will begin on Saturday, June 15, at 707 W Grizzley Drive, featuring a parade line-up of muscle cars, motorcycles, floats, trucks, and horses. Line-up starts at 9:00 a.m. and the parade will begin at 10:00 a.m.
