In May 2023, voters passed a bond election measure that would allow the district to sell a bond for up to $10 million without raising tax dollars. This bond was to fund the construction of the athletic complex and a new career and technological education building.
Last week, a groundbreaking ceremony was held for the new CTE facility at New Boston High School. District administration, students, staff, school board and community members joined with representatives from Godwin Design Architects PLLC and Harrison, Walker & Harper Construction to celebrate the beginning construction.
Construction of both buildings will continue through the first half of 2025. “It will be ready for students to use before the start of the 2025-2026 school year”, said Brian Bobbitt, NBISD superintendent.
