Appeal sought for man in Bowie County human trafficking case

A Bowie County man convicted of sex-trafficking and sexual assault has appealed to have his sentences overturned.

The Sixth Court of Appeals heard oral arguments in the case of Brandon Palmer, 40, in an attempt to overturn his August conviction.

A six man and six woman jury sentenced Palmer to two life sentences for his part in a sex-trafficking ring and sexual assault. He is not eligible for parole on the trafficking charge. He also received a sentence of 80 years for the unlawful possession of a cell phone while in custody. The trial lasted four days.
