Law enforcement from several agencies gathered at DeKalb Independent School District last week to learn tactics for handling active shooter situations.
DISD hosted the Advanced Law Enforcement Rapid Response Training on the campus July 18-19. The training is to help area law enforcement be better equipped in the event of an active shooter situation.
“We’re glad to host this training. It gives other law enforcement agencies a good chance to see our campus, get the layout of our campus, so we’ve got a collaborative response and we’re all on the same page. God forbid we ever have to put this training into play, we all know what we’re doing and we’re prepared to make entry and save the lives we can save,” said Chad Ford, DISD police chief.
