The DeKalb Bears came away from Friday night’s football action as the lone winner among our area coverage teams, as they fought back from a 22-8 halftime deficit to shipwreck the visiting Pittsburg Pirates by a final score of 32-22.
Senior QB Jaylen White led the way on offense for the Bears as he rushed for 102 yards and three touchdowns on 14 carries, and was also 14 of 25 for 166 yards passing and a touchdown through the air.
Kaden Wherry also had a big night on the ground with 139 yards on 28 carries, while Koby Spurgeon also broke the century mark with four catches for 100 yards and a touchdown, and Walker Matteson added five catches for 42 yards.
