Texas A&M University- Texarkana and the Bowie County Master Gardeners will host the program “Creating Pocket Prairies” on Monday, September 9, 2024, from 6:00 pm until 8:00 pm in University Center Room 326.
The class is free and open to the public. Reservations are not required.
The program will be presented by Rachael Derringer, a Bowie County Master Gardener, who will discuss how to increase wildlife habitat and diversity in a small space. In addition to boosting local habitat and increasing vital food sources for birds and pollinator insects, pocket prairies help filter runoff water, reduce erosion, and even store carlion bon - all of which are good for the environment.
