Local squads came up blank in football action this past Friday as none of our local coverage teams were able to find the win column in non-conference action.
Despite amassing 320 yards of total offense and going into the intermission knotted up at 14 all, the DeKalb Bears were unable to claw their way over Jefferson last Friday night to suffer their first loss of the young season with a final score of 36-30.
The game was not without its highlights for the Bears as Kayden Wherry rushed for 95 yards and a touchdown and also caught three passes. QB Jaylen White scored twice on the ground and threw for a third and wideout Walker Matteson scored his first varsity touchdown for the Bears as he led the squad in receiving with six catches for 64 yards and a score.
