The simple act of saving seeds from plants has many applications gardening and horticulture. Saving seeds can be a fun way for gardeners to save money each growing season by reducing the need to purchase new seeds. Saving seeds from plants that thrived in your yard or garden can help you select genetic material from plants that grew well in your local environment. Selecting seeds can help you learn to focus on nature and plant cycles more, deepening your understanding of plants and your garden. Finally, saving seeds and sharing them with your neighbors can help you strengthen ties with others in the community and possibly make new friends in the process.
