Diversity seems to be a word that best fits some people in our lives and that is especially true for our educator from the Maud ISD, Kayla Harrell.
Harrell’s career, mentors, friends and family are as diverse as they come. With six years of experience in a classroom, followed by 14 years in counseling, and now serving as the district’s middle and high school principal, Kayla has seen many facets of what it means to be known as an educator.
It is very evident that being an educator is what Kayla was meant to be. She says, “I always knew I wanted to be a teacher. When I was younger my aunt worked at the school and was able to bring home materials that were going to be discarded.
