The Hooks Independent School District was among an elite list of state grant recipients to enhance safety in their schools.
HISD received $6,300 to purchase portable first aid kits for all school vehicles, including maintenance and student transportation ve- hicles and field trip bags as well as new locking kits for each campus.
“We are able to make sure everybody had exactly what they could think to need if there was ever a kind of incident when they were on campus or just with kids somewhere else in another location,” said Taylor Clements, director of curriculum and information technologies.
