It was a night for big wins and championships last Friday as the DeKalb bears and Maud Cardinals earned big district wins and each claimed a district championship.
The Bears solidified their championship with a convincing 61-14 win over the Queen City Bulldogs in a game that saw running back Kayden Wherry rush for 234 yards and five touchdowns and QB Jaylen White set the single season passing record for DeKalb. White went 13 of 17 for 137 yards in the contest, putting him over the single season passing mark of 1,930 yards set by Chris Blackstone in 2002.
White had already set school records for passing yards in a single game with 345 yards against Harmony earlier this year. White also holds the school record for touchdown passes in a single game with five against Redwater this season.
