Last Friday night’s football action set the playoffs in stone with bracket seeds determined and five local teams finding their way into the postseason.
The DeKalb Bears, New Boston Lions, Hooks Hornets, Maud Cardinals and James Bowie Pirates all found their way into the postseason fray. The Bears finished their district season as the undefeated district champions with their 42-14 win over Hooks, and the Maud Cardinals also ended their district schedule unblemished with their decisive 46-0 win over the Tigers from Linden-Kildare.
The Lions fell to Daingerfield on Friday but claimed the 3rd place seed in the postseason and despite their loss to DeKalb, the Hornets took the 4th spot in their district and will see bracket play.
