The Avery Bulldogs hosted the Avery 7-11 Tournament last week and ended the weekend with a loss to Harts Bluff in the championship game to claim the 2nd place trophy.
The James Bowie Pirates and Maud Cardinals traveled to play in the tournament. The PIrates went into four overtimes to outlast Dodd Coty by a score of 4744 to earn the 3rd place spot. The host Bulldogs knocked off the Pirates 36-28 to start the tournament and then fell to McLeod in the second game of pool play on Thursday.
On Friday, Avery toppled Linden-Kildare by a score of 68-29 in their first game and then beat Fruitvale 50-25 to earn a spot in the championship game on Saturday.
