ROBERT PAUL HARDAGE

Robert Paul Hardage, 90, of Mesquite, Texas, passed away peacefully on Friday, November 22, 2024.

Robert was born on Tuesday, December 12, 1933, in Maud, Texas, to Phillip Hardage and Myrtle Minton. After high school, he moved to Dallas to work for Amelie Oil where he met Betty June Zimmerman. They were married in 1956 and spent 50 years together, building a life and family of which he was very proud. Robert served in the US Army, which took the couple to Stuttgart, Germany, and brought their oldest daughter. Returning stateside, Robert joined Billy Barrett’s sales team at Barrett Motors before eventually opening his own custom muffler shop in 1967. He ran what came to be Guaranteed Muffler in Pleasant Grove, Texas until he retired 29 years later. But he was too young to quit his favorite hobby, and continued to buy, sell, and repair cars into his 80s. A hardworking man and provider, Robert will be missed by many, and held forever in the hearts of loved ones and friends.

Robert is survived by his children DJ Hardage, Renae Hardage Mayfield, and CHad Hardage and wife Pennie; brothers Kent Hardage and wife Melinda, and DeWayne Hardage; granddaughters Ashley Bledsoe and husband Dustin, Andrea Davis, Amy Myers, Abbie Walk and husband Nate; grandsons Craig “Bubba” Enright and wife Tocia, Omar Duran and wife Jill, Clark Hardage, Jacob Alexander and wife Jessi; grandson-in-law Cody Manning; 20 Great Grandchildren and 10 Great-Great Grandchildren.
