While most families are waking up on Christmas morning wondering what Santa left under the tree, one New Boston family is asking Santa for a cure to childhood cancer this year.
On December 6, Kristy Evans received the news no parent ever wants to hear. Her daughter, 14-year-old Makilia Moore, was diagnosed with leukemia.
What makes it the hardest for her family, Evans said, is that she is a 35-year-old single mother to five children ranging in age from 4- to 15-years-old and this is the first Christmas she is spending away from them.
