On Monday, the National Weather Service office in Shreveport issued a statement that Bowie County and the majority of the Ark-La-Tex had more than a 50 percent chance of seeing measurable snowfall starting early Thursday morning.
Accumulations vary from as low as an inch of snow in Bowie County to as high as six inches. There is a remote possibility of icing, but the National Weather Service expects the ice to be more to the south, from I-20 and southward.
Forecast maps show a significant portion of Texas would be dealing with winter precipitation starting on Wednesday as the arctic air mass dropped across the region Sunday night sending temps into the 20’s and windchills into the single digits.
