his past Christmas, Mrs. Crawford, a Pre-K 4 teacher at New Boston Elementary School, was inspired to reach out to her community in an effort to coordinate a collection drive to assemble blessing bags for homeless individuals, partnering with her church community, family, friends, and even some parents of her students. Her collective efforts resulted in the delivery of fifty bags to the Randy Sam’s Homeless Shelter in Texarkana. Moreover, her daughter and her husband will be distributing additional bags to homeless individuals in Little Rock, Arkansas. Each bag contained a thoughtful selection of items, including a hat, scarf, gloves, hot hands (hand warmers), chapstick, slim Jim beef jerky, an inspirational message, and peppermint candy.
Upon her arrival, the outreach staff warmly received and thanked her for the donations. Mrs.
Crawford was grateful for the generosity and support she received in her endeavor to spread love and warmth to those in need. It is essential to recognize that homelessness can affect anyone and can be caused by various factors, including illness, business closure, natural disasters, or house fires. As Christians, we are called to be responsible stewards of our resources and to give generously.
