Winter may be on its way out, but winter illnesses are still affecting Bowie County hard, officials say.
Dr. Matt Young, the Bowie County health authority, said that the Center for Disease Control has Bowie County listed in the moderate to severe spread threat of influenza (or flu) type A.
“We want everybody to be aware … it’s very, very contagious,” Young warned.
