The Hooks Elementary School second grade class is now filled with published authors following a recent class project.
The project was the first of its kind at HES. Led by Tammie Shrewsbury, one of the second grade teachers at HES, each student of her three classes wrote and illustrated a short story of what they want to be when they grow up.
“It felt nice because … everyone that gets one of these books gets to know what we want to be when we grow up. It’s all of our ideas combined together into one whole big book that anyone who buys it can read,” said Parker Ryan, one of the HES second graders.
