The Bowie County Master Gardeners and Texas A&M-Texarkana’s School of Professional Education and Community Engagement will host the program “Hot New Ornamental Plants for East Texas… and Some We’ve Forgotten About” on Monday, March 10, 2025, starting at 6:00 PM. The class is free and open to the public. The class will take place in the University Building, Room 326. No reservation is required
presented by Dr. Andrew King, Texas A&M AgriLife Research Ornamental Specialist and Assistant Professor in the Texas A&M Department of Horticultural Sciences. Located at the AgriLife Research and Extension Center at Overton, King is reestablishing and expanding the ornamental plant trial program at Overton that previously included more than 500 ornamental cultivars that were being tested alongside well-established industry-standard plants.
Come learn about some exciting, new plants that would be great additions to your landscape or re-discover some tried-and-true specimens that truly never go out of style. With over 30 years’ experience in the nursery industry, King brings a wealth of knowledge with him to AgriLife and our program in Texarkana.
