Maud Family Dollar Store robbery ends in homicide

A Saturday night robbery of the Family Dollar Store on Hwy. 67 in Maud tragically ended in the death of a store employee.

According to the official press release issued by Bowie County Sheriff Jeff Neal, On 3-8-2025 at approximately 7:52p.m., the Bowie County Sheriff’s Office received a 911 call from the Family Dollar Store in Maud.

The caller reported an armed robbery had just occurred and one of the store clerks had been shot.
