A Joint Local Election will be held for three cities and two school districts for the upcoming election cycle.
Elections for the cities of Hooks and New Boston will be held for city council positions. Hooks has four council seats and New Boston has three on the ballot.
Residents in the City of Leary will be casting their votes on a proposed 1-½ percent sales and use tax for goods sold in the city limits.
Residents in the Hooks and Redwater independent school districts will also be voting for expiring school board member seats. Hooks has two positions on the ballot. Redwater has four school board seats. Residents of the district will be voting on three full, threeyear terms and one one-year term left vacant which will be open for a full three-year term in 2026.
Redwater ISD voters will also be voting on two proposed bond elections.

The Joint Local Election allows voters to cast their ballots for their local issue and candidates in any of the polling locations across the county.
Early voting will be held 8 Center in the ABC Room. Early voting will only be held at the courthouse on Saturday, April 26, from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. and 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. Monday, April 28, and Tuesday, April 29.
The following polling locations will be open on Tuesday, May 3, from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m.: Hooks High School gymnasium at 401 E Ave. A, Hooks, Texas; New Boston City Hall in the community center at 301 NE Front Street, New Boston, Texas; Leary City Hall in the council chambers at 9504 W. New Boston Road, Texarkana, Texas; First Baptist Church Red Springs in the family life center at 1101 Farm to Market Road 991, Texarkana, Texas; Redwater First Baptist Church in the family life center at 105 Redwater Blvd E, Redwater, Texas; Southwest Center in the ABC Room at 3222 W 7th Street, Texarkana, Texas.
