The Hooks Lady Hornets upset the #8 ranked DeKalb Lady Bears last week to vault themselves to the top of the district standings.
The Lady Hornets scored three times in the bottom of the 6th to take a 5-2 lead and then held off a DeKalb comeback in the final frame to earn the 5-4 district win in Hooks.
The winning runs in the bottom of the 6th came off of an inside the park homerun from Anna Beth Black. Black blasted a ball deep off the outfield wall narrowly missing a bomb but made her way around the base paths for the three RBI’s.
