The rain and wind washed out games scheduled for Friday last week but there was a host of big district games on local diamonds before the storms came in.
The Hooks Lady Hornets kept pace with district contenders in a big way with a 23-1 win over Queen City with Stella Fincher leading the way at the plate. Fincher hit for the cycle in the game with a triple in the 1st, a single in the 2nd and both a double and a dinger in the 3rd inning. Fincher was 4-for-4 with three RBI’s and four runs scored in the contest.
The Lady Hornets racked up 19 hits in the game as Zoey Greenwood also had four RBI’s and teammates Hadlee Grant, Madison Lewis and Peyton Morgan each had three runs batted in and Anna Beth Black added two more.
