The DeKalb Lady Bears and the Hooks Lady Hornets played for the district championship last Friday night with the Lady Bears coming out on top by a score of 9-3.
After the Lady Hornets loaded the bases in their half of the 1st inning, DeKalb hurler Kaydee Brown found her groove and went on to earn the win with 10 strikeouts while allowing three runs on just three hits. Peyton Morgan took the loss for Hooks.
At the plate, Mackenzye Carpenter paced the Lady Bears with a pair of hits and three RBI’s while TT Ingram added a pair of runs batted in for DeKalb. Caylin Corbett also had an RBI for DeKalb and Brown aided her own cause with a solo homerun.
