How long have you resided there?

35 years

Church, Work and Organizational Affiliations:

I am a member of the First Baptist Church New Boston. I retired from Cooper Tire after 22 years.

Over the years, I have volunteered in several capacities; coaching multiple youth sports teams for more than 20 years with my kids and grandkids. I served as Soccer board President for many years, as well as NB Athletic Booster Club President.

Political Why do you want the office you are seeking?

I have always been an advocate of community involvement and have spent many years volunteering in this community.

What qualifies you to hold the office you are seeking?

I have experience as a public official with New Boston ISD, serving as a Board member for 7 years.

As a Board member, I have overseen and provided input for a budget in excess of $13 million in a district that employs more than 200. While employed with Cooper Tire, I served as Chief Steward, representing more than 400 employees.

In this role, I was responsible for working directly with management and employees to resolve issues and find common ground ensuring that the company would continue to exceed its goals.

What do you see as the major needs in your city?

Projects such as streets, water and sewer will continue to be a top priority.

These projects have a direct impact on the safety and security of our citizens. Employee morale is also vital to the success of New Boston.

The employees of our city are valuable members of our community and each should be treated with dignity and respect. All of our departments including Fire, Police, Public Works and City Hall are the best around.

I feel the major need is to continue our work growing this community. In order to grow, upgrading and adding new infrastructure to help bring new businesses, jobs and housing is a must.
