In its inaugural year, the New Boston Middle School (NBMS) esports team came away from the state competition with a second place finish.
The Fortnite team of eighth-graders Joseph Boyd, Brayden Carter, Jakari Martin and Hunter Smallwood traveled to Arlington, Texas, to compete in the Vanta esport state playoffs on May 3 where they finished second in the state.
This was the first year for NBMS to offer the esports program to students.
