The lake record bar for largemouth bass at Texas’ newest public reservoir continues to climb.
On April 10, fishing guide Jason Conn of Anna caught and released a 10.63 pound largemouth bass at Bois D’ Arc Lake that may be the biggest ever documented at the Fannin County reservoir. The 22 1/2 inch fish was weighed on certified scales and is awaiting official certification as the new lake record by the Texas Parks and Wildlife Department’s Angler Recognition Program.
Conn said he caught the big bass making random casts with a swim jig around brush in about three feet of water. If certified, the fish will top Conn’s current lake record of 9.02 pounds by 1.61 pounds. That fish was caught in April 2024.
