Mr. James Westfall, Superintendent of New Boston ISD, and Mr. Robert Stinnett, Superintendent of Maud ISD, were recently honored for outstanding employee safety by the East Texas Educational Insurance Association at its annual conference conducted in Austin, Texas. Both districts were Diamond award recipients, with the actual losses from employee accidents equalling less than 10 percent of the funds set aside by the district for claims expenses.

Two members of the Base Realignment and Closure (BRAC) commission arrived at the Red River Army Depot Tuesday morning for an official site visit. Thousands of Bowie County and Texarkana-area residents lined the roads around Texarkana Airport as General Sue Ellen Turner (USAF, ret.) and General James T. Hill (U.S. Army, ret.) arrived. Thousands more lined Spur 86 and crowded around the complex entrance as they made their way to the base.
Ten Years Ago - 2015

The Redwater Lady Dragons, with their family, friends, and fans, celebrated their winning season last weekend with a party at the sports complex in town. The festivities included lots of good food, a giant slip and slide, volleyball, and a cupcake fight. The Lady Dragons had an impressive season in 2015 which included an Area Championship, year end accolades including Katy Worrell’s selection as the district MVP, and a winning streak during the regular season that propelled them into the playoffs.
