Thirty Years Ago 1995
Catie Willis, the four year old daughter of David and Janet Willis, recently won the title of 1995 Texas State Cinderella Tot. Catie is now making plans to attend the International Cinderella Pageant in Oklahoma City, where she will compete with girls from across the United States and several foreign countries.
Twenty Years Ago 2005
Simms girl recognized for volunteerism Magen Montgomery was recently awarded the Volunteer of the Year Award for Wing 1 of the New Boston Health Care Center. Montgomery began visiting the facility when she was eight years old, stopping in to visit her grandfather. Since that time, she has started coming on a weekly basis, putting in 8 to 16 hour shifts with her grandmother, Carroll.
Ten Years Ago - 2015
Three area baseball stars made the Texas High School Baseball Coaches Association All-State lineups following campaigns that saw them help lead their teams into postseason play. Maud Cardinal ace pitcher Jake McDonald complied an 8-2 record on the season with an ERA of just .614 from the hill, along with 25 RBIs and a .364 batting average. Two Redwater Dragons earned All-Star selections, including Foxx Smith with a 1st Team pitcher lineup selection and teammate John Michael Russ with a 2nd team catcher designation.

Members of MCL Det 1149, Texarkana USA donated $250.00 to Mayor Terry Pervis of Fouke, Arkansas. Fouke Veteran’s Park was founded by the First Responders of Fouke.
