Addressing the article you wrote “Just Shut Up” Dear Kenny Mitchell, I am so glad someone has spoken on this issue. People do not see the results of these (keyboard warriors) comments and posts. So, let me tell you about one of these results. My brother was arrested back in January, and it was posted on social media and in papers. Wouldn’t you know there were all kinds of people with opinions and remarks about this and might I say very disrespectful and mean words. As a domino effect now, the whole community is out to punish him. Due to community outreach his bail was even raised, no lawyer wants to take his case. He has been sitting in segregation with a fractured pelvis since January and they have done nothing about it. Now don’t get me wrong, I’m not saying that my brother does no wrong. But not one of these people were there nor did they have all of the information. And yet they have painted this picture of a monster, which is not right, in fact, all actual witnesses say he is innocent. Assumption will only make an ass of you.
Addressing the keyboard warriors As Kenny says in his (Just Shut Up) article. “People are prone to say stupid things when in fact they are ill informed, ill advised.” With that being said because of these posts and comments other people’s life’s are affected. In many ways, so unless you know all of the details about what’s going on keep your post and your comment to yourself. As I’m sure most of you were told “keep your hands to yourself” as a child. Well, it is the same concept.
Sincerely, Jessica Hanson New Boston, Texas
