Not only is Miss New Boston, Olivia Duffer hometown royalty, but also the only person to hold both that title and be named valedictorian of her graduating class at New Boston High School. Duffer, who has been a student at New Boston schools since kindergarten, has a long list of accomplishments over her years of education. She states, “I enjoyed being a varsity cheerleader and was on the varsity tennis team all four years of high school, and I served as student council president, as well as HOSA (Health Occupations Students of America) president, class officer, and a member of the National Honor Society. I stayed busy managing my organizations with my school work.”

Duffer says that her success as a student was just as important to her as her time in high school.

“I learned quickly that I wanted to be a successful student, but I still wanted to enjoy my high school career”,’ Duffer explained. “I would study for a test before going to a pep rally or game. I did homework or assignments during study hall. There were many late nights and weekends full of school work, too. I managed my time very well and was very proud of my hard work and dedication.”
