Texarkana College Enroll

Our most precious commodity

Another school year starts this week for students and teachers all across our area, and with the return to classes, homework and everything else that goes with it I thought I would offer up some suggestions that we all should already know...but sometimes forget.

First of all...school is hard. No matter which side of the desk you are on, or whether you sit in an admin office somewhere, what you do on a daily basis matters. Education sets the basis for an entire lifetime of living in my opinion. Every person on the planet at least needs to know the basics. You know the old stand...reading, writing and arithmetics are skills that people just have to have. While college and higher education might not be a must have, the basics are key.

Next, with all of the fervor and activity that school brings back to our communities, let’s all remember to be extra careful as we drive through our towns. There are kids that walk to school, kids on buses, and parents in drop off lines that may not have had their morning coffee yet. A little extra caution on the streets is mandatory.
