Tick tick ticking away

I had someone very close to me tell me recently that I have always put this job at the front of my priority list.

Over the last week I have pondered that statement and tried to reason with myself that there was no way it was true. But then, I recalled all the times that I was here at this desk when it would have been much easier, and likely more prudent, if I was at home spending time with those that mean more to me than life itself.

It doesn’t take very long for me to bring up memories of days and nights that I was out and about doing what I do professionally, instead of sitting at home on the couch enjoying some quiet down time with the family.
