An appeals court last week upheld the 2024 verdict of a New Boston man sentenced to spend the rest of his life in prison for the sexual and physical abuse of multiple children.
Cody Blake Barnes, 32, of New Boston, was denied a new trial by the 6th Court of Appeals after a jury sentenced him to eight life sentences plus 352 years for sexually molesting and abusing children in the home he shared with wife Brittany Barnes. Brittany Barnes was also convicted of charges related to the molestation and abuse.
Eight children, ranging from infant to 8-years-old, were listed in court documents as being victimized by the couple.
