The New Boston Special Industrial Development Corporation (SIDC) and the Community Development Corporation (CDC) have unanimously approved the Fiscal Year 2026 proposed budgets. Fiscal Year 2026 (FY 26) begins October 1, 2025, and ends September 30, 2026. The next step will be approval by the City Council at their regular September meeting. The format for the Special Industrial Development Corporation (SIDC) and Community Development Corporation (CDC) is a hybrid performance-based/ program budget approach. By linking our actions to the City’s Forward New Boston Plan, we will link our objectives and expenditures to those established goals. By clearly sharing the goals, at the end of FY 26, we can review our performance versus established goals and be transparent to our Mayor/ City Council, citizens and business community of our results.
Every organization has limited funds and time. To maximize returns on investment and create a stronger economic ecosystem base, the SIDC will concentrate on the Eaves Property along Interstate-30 for improvements and the AR TX REDI partnership utility extensions. The CDC will concentrate its funds on downtown improvements and quality of life.
The following is a summary of linked proposed goals from the Forward New Boston Plan: Determine infrastructure needs at available sites. The SIDC is working with engineering firms to provide quotes to perform these. One item which proposals are being looked at is to push through the access road from Tractor Supply to Lanier Street. This will include the movement of the lift station in the Northwest corner of the property. One item with utilities that the SIDC is open to partnering with the City is to have a comprehensive water/sewer system evaluation.
