Area schools received their report cards from the Texas Education Agency (TEA) as annual school accountability ratings were released for the 2024-2025 academic year this month.
The accountability ratings grade the 1,207 districts and nearly 9,000 schools across the state from A to F.
Maud and Red Lick independent school districts were the only area schools to receive an overall A rating, both raising from a B the previous year. Maud increased their score by 5 points from an 89 to 94 this year. Red Lick improved from an 87 to a 91.
