Locations in Bowie and Titus counties will soon receive new dynamic message signs, according to plans awarded in July by the Texas Department of Transportation. Locations will also receive new closed-circuit television cameras.
“Dynamic message signs are overhead, electronic signs that TxDOT can use to display up-todate traffic information and safety messages to drivers,” said Christina Trowler, TxDOT Atlanta District Director of Transportation Operations. “These signs can display alerts, warnings, weather advisories and alternative route information, if needed.”
TxDOT places CCTV cameras at strategic locations to allow the agency to monitor traffic conditions in real time. CCTV cameras do not record.
