Glow Walk returns for year two in New Boston

The 2nd annual Glow Walk is coming to New Boston on September 27 and this year is all set to be bigger and better than ever. The Glow Walk is a special event geared towards raising money to help those locally that are battling cancer. All money raised goes directly to the Let’s Battle Cancer Together Foundation, an organization that has its roots solely in helping those battling the dreaded disease.

The Foundation has already helped 10 local people and given out a total of $5,000 from last year’s walk, and they hope to double that or more in 2025.

There are so many ways that people can take part in the Glow Walk.

There is a Memory Lane where the names of those that lost their battle are posted and remembered, there are vendor spots, and you can enter a team to walk in honor or memory of those impacted by cancer.

It all began last year when local community volunteer Charlie Clark was in the midst of his battle. The first fundraiser put together by Stephanie Hawkins and a host of other volunteers raised thousands to help Clark. A year later, Clark was in remission and wanted to do something to help others. The Let’s Battle Cancer Together Foundation was formed and the first Glow Walk was held.

Clark says, “All of the money went into the foundation and we were able to help people. It has really been a blessing.”

This year’s event is agin spearheaded by Stephanie Hawkins and Tonia Lee. The event will include live music, the walk, Memory Lane and a large number of teams walking for those they care about.

A host of vendors of all kinds will also be on site including a bake sale, crafts, and wares of all kinds. Life-Share will also be on hand for much needed blood donations, with a portion of those donations earmarked to go for the care of local cancer patients.

A special addition to this year’s event will be Crazy Train Customs hosting a Children’s Power Wheels Car Show. They are encouraging kids ages 3-8 to register. Power Wheels, Pedal Cars and Little Tikes Cars are eligible to participate. Those interested are encouraged to Modify cars with Boat Trailers, Horse Trailers, etc or decorate for someone they love battling cancer or passed from cancer. Exit 208 Trophies has donated trophies to be awarded. Entrants are welcome to be in the New Boston Pioneers Day Parade on our Float. The $10 Fee for the car show goes to Let’s Battle Cancer Together Foundation and the Glow Walk. To register or for more information text 903-314-0381 Check in is at 1:30. Judging starts at 2:15. Awards at 3:45.

The 2025 Glow Walk is scheduled for Saturday, September 27, 2025 from 4 to 8 p.m. in downtown New Boston at the Trail Head Park Pavilion.
