District action gets underway

District action gets underway
The high powered offense of the DeKalb Bears ran roughshod over the Harmony Eagles last week amassing over 500 yards in total offense on their way to a 42-7 non-conference win.

After an exciting week of big wins and upset losses, local football squads will return to the stadiums this Friday with the district schedule starting across the area.

The DeKalb Bears will start their quest for a repeat district championship on the road this Friday at Hughes Springs.

The Mustangs are 2-2 on the season and coming off a 42-13 loss to Paul Pewitt and should not pose much of a challenge to the potent offense of the Bears that put up over 500 total yards of offense last Friday. The Bears’ air attack, led by freshman QB Maddux Burgin and wideouts Walker Matteson and Mason Salinas, should see big numbers again this week. Burgin had 387 yards passing against Harmony a week ago and could see those numbers again this Friday.
