An exciting week of high flying football action last week saw three local squads earn a win in their district opener and two celebrate homecoming night wins.
The DeKalb Bears notched a victory in their district opener by corralling the host Hughes Springs Mustangs by a final score of 42-16.
The high-powered DeKalb offense was paced last week by running back Bryuan Gardner who ended the night with 175 yards of total offense and four touchdowns, as the Bears offense racked up an impressive 401 total yards of offense to earn the district win.
