Redwater ISD National Honor Society Chapter Wins National Award for Excellence of Service

For its exemplary record of leadership, service and efforts to improve the school and community, the National Honor Society (NHS) awarded the Redwater Independent School District NHS chapter the Service Award of Excellence under the leadership of president Samantha Stacy during the 2024-25 school year.

NHS is supported by its parent organization, the National Association of Secondary School Principals (NASSP), which also oversees the National Association of Student Councils.

Last year, members of the Redwater High School National Honor Society raised $1,000 in partnership with First Baptist Church – Redwater, to provide food and utility support for local families in need. Beyond fundraising, students dedicate countless hours to service projects such as ringing bells for the Salvation Army, maintaining Highway 67 through Adopt-A-Highway, providing water and encouragement at the Run the Line Marathon, and cleaning the football stadium after every home game. They also invest in younger Dragons by reading to elementary students, and extend their outreach by volunteering at events like Straight Street’s Chili Cookoff and Red Lick’s Fall Festival.
