Thirty Years Ago - 1995

October 1, 1995

The Hooks’ Lady Hornets seized control of the District 13-3A volleyball race with a solid victory over Pleasant Grove here Tuesday night. The Lady Hornets, who had lost to Pleasant Grove twic in tournaments this season, turned it around when it counted and improved their district record to 6-0. The Lady Hornets won their match in two games, 15-4 and 16-14. It was Pleasant Grove’s first loss in five district games.

Twenty Years Ago - 2005

October 2, 2005

Maud enjoyed their first win of the season Thursday evening with a big 35-8 victory over Oakwood on the road at Beckville. The Cardinals received points from a number of their players as they racked up more than 400 yards total offense. Codey Ott scored a pair of touchdowns, and led Maud in rushing with a total of 80 yards.

Ten Years Ago - 2015

September 30, 2015

The DeKalb Bears dominated every facet of the game Friday night to beat the New Boston Lions 24-2 and take the Traveling Trophy back to DHS for the first time in a decade. The DeKalb defense, led by seniors Ty Reed, Tate Breshears, Nathan Shipley and Jovan Forte completely shutdown the Lions’ offense, with New Boston’s only two points in the game coming from an intercepted DeKalb point-after attempt.

Five Years Ago- 2020

October 7, 2020

The New Boston faithful celebrated senior night last week with a big win over Redwater. Pictured are the 2020 Lady Lion seniors, left to right, Lauren Daniel, Emma Holland, Tamiya Smith, Maggie Taylor, Lauren Hurst, Megan Daniel and Hayley McAlexander.
