On July 27, 1974, Jan married her beloved husband of 51 years, Larry Dan Johnson, and together they built a life filled with love, devotion, and family. She retired as an auditor from the Red River Army Depot and was a devoted member of First Baptist Church, Moores Lane, in Texarkana, Texas. Jan had a lifelong passion for horses and cattle, and enjoyed spending time at the lake with her family. She was also known for her love of her two Catahoula dogs, Maggie and Cooper.
She was preceded in death by her parents and her sister, Tammy Smith.
Jan is survived by her husband, Larry Johnson of New Boston, Texas; two sons and daughters-in-law, Cody and Brooke Johnson of De Kalb, Texas, and Chris and Dollie Johnson of De Kalb, Texas; one sister, Shelia Holder of New Boston, Texas; four grandchildren, Kilee, Ella, Connor, and Bo Johnson; one niece, Kristi Wilbanks; as well as several great-nieces and great-nephews, extended family members, and friends.
Funeral services will be held at 3:00 p.m., Sunday, August 17, 2025, at First Baptist Church in De Kalb, Texas, with Brother James Boyd Strain officiating.
Visitation will be held from 2:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m. on Sunday, August 17, 2025, at First Baptist Church in De Kalb, Texas.
Cremation is under the direction of Bates Family Funeral Home in De Kalb, Texas.
