Lady Bears earn big wins to hold onto top spot
Tribune photos by Susan Lindsey The DeKalb Lady Bears held onto their first place spot in the district standings last week with wins over the Queen City Lady Bulldogs and the New Boston Lady Lions.

The biggest match on the schedule last week in local volleyball was the district contest on Friday between the New Boston Lady Lions and the district leader DeKalb Lady Bears.

The two squads battled on the court for five sets with the Lady Bears coming out on top by a final score of 2523,18 - 25, 17- 25, 25-22, 10-15.

For the Lady Bears, senior Presley Sparks was perfect from the service stripe with 17 points, including a pair of aces, and Brooklyn Proctor led the scoring with 18 points, also with a pair of aces. Parker Ford also came up big from the service line with 14 points.
