A group of young adult men from New Boston played basketball with officers from the New Boston Police Department at Tapp Methodist Church Sunday. The game was a challenge to the NBPD as a way to connect with the community through friendly competition, said Kerry Simmons, youth minister at Tapp. The men have been playing weekly pickup games at the church for several months while Simmons delivers devotional messages in between games. “It was a wonderful opportunity for both the Tapp basketball program and the PD to connect and build a better community,” Simmons said.
