According to a press release issued by the New Boston Police Department this morning:
The New Boston Police Department is investigating an armed robbery that occurred late in the evening of October 29, 2025.
At approximately 11:13 PM, an unknown male suspect entered a local business dressed in all black clothing and wearing a mask. The suspect produced what appeared to be a knife with a distinctive cheetah print handle and demanded money from the store clerk. The clerk complied and provided approximately forty dollars in cash before being instructed to lie face down and count. The clerk was able to safely trigger the store’s emergency alarm and contact 911.
The store’s manager responded to the scene and provided surveillance footage showing a white vehicle with front-end damage on the passenger side and a black roof arriving behind the business at approximately 11:11 PM. The suspect is seen exiting the vehicle, entering the store, committing the robbery, and then fleeing back to the awaiting vehicle, which then left the area at a high rate of speed.
A witness in the nearby area reported seeing a similar vehicle pass by twice around the time of the incident. The witness indicated that his dash camera might have captured the vehicle’s license plate, and arrangements have been made to obtain that footage.
The store clerk later reported recalling a male matching the same description who had visited the store several weeks prior. The man identified himself as Edmond, appeared to be in his mid-to-late 40s, and stated he had worked at Pilgrim’s in Mount Pleasant, Texas, before suffering an injury.
On Thursday, October 30, 2025, Mount Pleasant Police Department officers apprehended a black male driving a white car with a black roof and passenger-side front-end damage after the suspect allegedly robbed two stores in their jurisdiction. Mount Pleasant Police contacted the New Boston Police Department and shared photographs of the suspect and the vehicle. The vehicle’s appearance, including the damage pattern, along with the suspect’s clothing, matched details from the New Boston robbery. It is believed the same suspect is responsible for both incidents. Later that morning, at approximately 8:00 AM on October 30, 2025, Officer S. Malone and Corporal J. Harris of the New Boston Police Department conducted an article search with K-9 Goose in the area of North Elm Street, where the suspect informed Mount Pleasant Police that he had discarded the weapon. Around 8:16 AM, K-9 Goose alerted to an item at the corner of North Elm and East North Street. A knife matching the reported description was recovered, photographed, and secured as evidence.
The New Boston Police Department commends the outstanding work and swift coordination of its officers, including Officer’s Anderson, HK Parker, S. Malone, Corporal J. Harris, and K-9 Goose, whose diligence and professionalism were instrumental in recovering critical evidence and supporting the successful identification of the suspect. The department also extends its appreciation to the Mount Pleasant Police Department for their cooperation and investigative assistance.
